Description: Panel members will address the nexus of natural resources, financing and sustainability through the use of case studies providing a comprehensive water management plan and discuss innovative financing techniques to guide facilities planning, maintenance, and operations. In addition, the panel will illustrate how the planning for the integration of decentralized, on-site water reclamation and reuse systems can significantly enhance critical system resiliency by de-risking utility operations through clean sources of water. These case studies will address comprehensive water management planning, including but not limited to:
Identifying non-potable demand and potential reuse opportunities;
Examining engineering and architectural design integration;
Assessing local, state, and federal policies and permitting;
Exploring funding resources;
Implementing and validating projects.
Through the learning objectives, the audience will be able to prepare and analyze their own campus water footprint, operational efficiencies, and identify strategies for which to implement holistic water management. The panel discussion will function to provide participants with a tangible roadmap for analysis through the use of hands-on activities and instructional worksheets.
